What’s the opportunity about?

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior AI Product Manager Intern to join our team. This internship is designed for individuals who are passionate about artificial intelligence, product management, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment. As a Junior AI Product Manager Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, contribute to real projects, and develop valuable skills in product management.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Product Manager and

  • Support the product team in defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI products.
  • Assist in conducting market research, analyzing customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize features, define requirements, and support product development.
  • Help manage the product development lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders, customers, and data analysis to drive product improvements.
  • Stay updated on AI technologies, industry trends, and best practices in product management.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, product management and Responsible AI
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and basic understanding of product management concepts is a plus.

Linguistic Internship High Risk

What’s the opportunity about?

We are looking for a Linguist to help us explore quality assessment in high risk translations for the medical, finance and legal domains. Errors in these domains, whether translation errors or regulatory compliance errors, may have a major impact in people’s lives, thus a proper quality assessment tool is crucial to ensure high quality translations.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes linguistic analysis tasks following the existing Unbabel standards and practices with the guidance from more experienced Linguistic Services researchers:
  • Performs data collection and data quality annotation in high risk domains
  • MT and QE benchmarkings
  • Explores compliance regulations for specific high risk domains
  • Participates in research activities and productization projects under direct supervision

Requirements: 

  • Relevant BSc degree or an in-progress MA in the areas of Linguistics, Computational Linguistics and/or Translation Studies. 
  • Previous experience in technical translation of high risk domains, namely medical, finance or legal
  • Interest in Translation Quality evaluation methodologies (metrics and quality standards)
  • Basic knowledge of linguistic annotation methodologies
  • High verbal and written communication in English (C1-2 CEFR Level)
  • High proficiency (C1 CEFR Level) in another language other than English and the native language
  • Strong communication skills
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities

Linguistic Internship LLMs Linguistic Tasks

What’s the opportunity about?

LLMs are quickly becoming state-of-the-art for several NLP tasks and at Unbabel we are continuously improving our own model: Tower LLM. We are looking for a Linguist to help us test and evaluate Tower LLM in different languages and NLP tasks, such as MT and QE, Named Entities localization, and Cultural Transcreation.

Responsibilities

  • Executes linguistic analysis tasks and prompt engineering following the existing Unbabel standards and practices with the guidance from more experienced Linguistic Services researchers:
  • Data collection and annotation
  • Quality processes (testing and evaluation) for Named Entity localization, Style Guides application, Cultural Transcreation
  • MT and QE benchmarkings
  • Guardrails for TowerLLM
  • Participates in research activities and productization projects under direct supervision

Requirements:

Linguistic Internship Cultural Transcreation

What’s the opportunity about?

Transcreation involves adapting content from one language to another while also accounting for cultural and linguistic differences that may affect the message being conveyed. We are looking for a Linguist to help us explore Cultural Transcreation in multiple languages and use cases, namely Customer Support, Marketing, and website translations.

Responsibilities

  • Executes linguistic analysis tasks following the existing Unbabel standards and practices with the guidance from more experienced Linguistic Services researchers:
  • Performs quality processes for the transcreation module (testing and evaluation)
  • Performs MT and QE benchmarkings
  • Performs prompt engineering to apply cultural transcreation to different languages and use cases, namely Customer Support, Marketing, Website translations.
  • Participates in research activities and productization projects under direct supervision.

Requirements: 

  • Relevant BSc degree or an in-progress MA in the areas of Linguistics, Computational Linguistics and/or Translation Studies.
